No. All processing happens on your device. Your files never leave your phone or iPad as part of using the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
AI provenance only strips C2PA Content Credentials, AI-generator tags, and similar provenance markers while keeping camera EXIF, orientation, and color profiles intact. All metadata additionally removes EXIF, XMP, IPTC, comments, and other embedded metadata. Choose the mode from within the app before cleaning a file.
No. TraceOff copies image and video pixel/audio data verbatim — it only rewrites or blanks metadata containers, so there's no re-encoding and no quality loss.
After every clean, TraceOff re-scans the output and reports any metadata that could not be removed. If you see this, please email us the file type and the batch report (available from the Share button) so we can investigate.
Subscriptions are managed through Apple, not through TraceOff. On your device, go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions to view, change, or cancel your plan.
Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or via Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on your device.
Yes. TraceOff includes a "Remove Metadata" Shortcuts action that takes files in, cleans them with your chosen mode, and returns the cleaned copies — useful in a share-sheet shortcut, a Files folder action, or a Siri phrase.
