Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026 — Built with a privacy-first architecture
1. Our Commitment to Privacy
ScreenshotPro is built from the ground up to respect your privacy. We believe that your screenshots, annotations, and screen recordings belong to you. Our application is designed around a local-first philosophy where your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly configure and initiate a cloud upload.
2. Zero Telemetry and Diagnostics
ScreenshotPro does not collect telemetry, usage metrics, analytics, or event tracking. We do not maintain remote log servers, and all application logging on your local machine is completely turned off or discarded to ensure no sensitive activity or system environment information is recorded.
We believe that software should just work without spying on its users. Zero telemetry means no tracking cookies, no background reporting processes, and no hidden data harvesting.
3. Storage and Backups
All captures, annotations, and drafts are stored strictly on your local machine. If you choose to enable the optional Cloud Upload feature, ScreenshotPro operates a "Bring Your Own Storage" model.
- Direct Connection: Your files are uploaded directly from your device to your cloud provider (such as AWS S3 or Cloudflare R2). No intermediate third-party servers are used.
- Credentials: Your API keys, bucket credentials, and access passwords are stored directly in your macOS Keychain, backed by native system security.
4. System Permissions
To capture screen activities, ScreenshotPro requires standard macOS system permissions:
- Screen Recording: Required to capture screenshots, scrollable areas, and record video.
- Microphone: Optional, required only if you decide to record audio walkthroughs.
- Accessibility: Optional, required to enable the automated scrolling capture utility.
These permissions are managed strictly by macOS, and ScreenshotPro does not store, monitor, or transmit permission tokens.
