1. Acceptance of Terms

MDViewer is made available to you through the Apple App Store and is subject to the App Store's own Usage Rules, in addition to the terms set out here. By using the App you confirm that you have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.

2. End User License Agreement (EULA)

This section is the End User License Agreement between you ("Licensee") and Alice Turcanu ("Licensor") for MDViewer.

2.1 License grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Licensor grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to download, install, and use one copy of the App on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, and as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules, for your personal, non-commercial use.

2.2 Restrictions

You may not, and may not permit others to:

2.3 Ownership

The App is licensed, not sold, to you. Licensor and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the App, including all intellectual property rights therein. This license does not grant you any rights to use Licensor's trademarks or branding.

2.4 Consent to use of data

The App itself does not collect personal data; see our Privacy Policy for details. Any diagnostic or usage data collected by Apple in connection with the App is governed by Apple's own policies, not by Licensor.

2.5 Maintenance and support

Licensor is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for the App, to the extent required by applicable law. You can reach Licensor at . Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.

3. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

3.1 What the App includes at no cost

Opening files and folders, reading rendered Markdown, following links between documents, searching within and across documents, and changing how documents are displayed are available at no cost and require no purchase.

3.2 MDViewer Pro

MDViewer Pro unlocks the features that create or change files: editing a document and saving it to disk, exporting as HTML or PDF, copying a document as rich text or HTML source, and printing. It is offered as an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly or yearly, or as a one-time purchase ("Lifetime") that does not renew. All three grant the same features.

3.3 Payment and renewal

Purchases are made through the Apple App Store and charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. An auto-renewing subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends. The price, billing period and any introductory offer are shown in the App before you buy, and may differ by territory and over time.

3.4 Free trials

Where a free trial is offered, it is available once per Apple Account for the subscription group, and eligibility is determined by Apple. If you buy a subscription during a free trial, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited.

3.5 Managing and cancelling

You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period already paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

3.6 Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies and cannot be issued by us directly. Requests can be made at reportaproblem.apple.com.

3.7 Restoring a purchase

A subscription or one-time purchase is tied to the Apple Account that bought it and can be restored on another Mac using the same account, with Restore Purchases in Settings > Pro.

3.8 Changes to features and pricing

We may change what MDViewer Pro includes or what it costs. Price changes for an existing subscription take effect only in accordance with Apple's rules, which require that you be notified and given the opportunity to cancel before the new price applies.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are responsible for the files and content you choose to open, view, edit, or export using the App, and for complying with any laws or agreements that apply to that content.

5. Your Content

MDViewer operates on files stored locally on your device or in locations you connect to (such as folders on an external drive or iCloud Drive). We do not access, collect, or claim any ownership interest in the documents you open or create with the App. You retain full ownership of, and responsibility for, your own content at all times.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, graphics, and all associated intellectual property, is owned by Licensor or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any such rights to you beyond the limited license described in Section 2.

7. Updates and Changes to the App

We may release updates to the App from time to time to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance. We may also modify or discontinue features of the App at our discretion. We are not obligated to provide any updates, but where we do, they will be subject to these Terms unless accompanied by separate terms.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Licensor does not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any content you create, view, or export using the App will be preserved without loss or corruption. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will Licensor be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Licensor's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the App will not exceed the amount you paid, if any, to obtain the App. We strongly recommend keeping independent backups of any important files you work with in the App.

10. Term and Termination

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically, without notice, if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must stop using the App and delete all copies of it in your possession. Sections 2.3, 5, 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.

11. Third-Party Terms (Apple)

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Licensor only, not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"), and Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the App. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App; Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, or claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation. Apple is not responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, or discharge of any third-party intellectual property infringement claim related to the App. You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the App, and Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, with the right to enforce them against you.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your country or region of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where superseded by mandatory Apple App Store terms or local consumer protection law that cannot be waived.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
