Frequently Asked Questions
How are secret variables protected?
When you mark an environment variable as a secret in Curlew, its value is immediately stored in your macOS Keychain. The local configuration file (`workspace.json`) only records a reference to the secret. Secrets are never saved to plain-text workspace files, nor are they exported when you share your collections.
Does Curlew sync my requests to the cloud?
No. Curlew is local-first. There is no cloud sync, no tracking, and no external storage of your requests. All data remains in your local sandbox workspace directory, which makes Curlew safe to use for sensitive corporate APIs.
How do I import collections from Postman?
To import a collection, go to the top navigation, click the "Import & Export" button, select "Import Postman Collection...", and choose your Postman export file (v2.x format). Curlew will preserve your request structure, headers, variables, and bodies.
