At Chat With Santa, we take family privacy seriously. This policy explains how the app is designed to provide a magical Santa experience while limiting data collection, keeping child content on device, and supporting parent control.
1. Information the App Handles
We believe in minimal data collection. Chat With Santa does not require an account, public profile, email address, phone number, precise location, school name, or child's full legal name to use the app.
- Child Profiles: A parent or guardian may create a local profile with a child's first name or nickname, theme, stickers, wishes, letters, and chat history. This information is stored on the device.
- Voice Input: Voice input is used to convert speech to text for Santa's reply. Audio is not sent to our servers, sold, or used for advertising.
- Text, Letters, and Wishes: Messages, letters, drawings, wish lists, and Santa replies are stored locally on the device so families can review them in the app.
- Support Requests: If a parent or guardian emails us for support, we receive the email address and message content needed to respond.
- Diagnostics: We may receive limited crash or diagnostic information through Apple tools if you have enabled sharing with developers in your device settings.
2. Children's Privacy and COPPA
Chat With Santa is designed for family use and is intended to be set up and supervised by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our servers, and the app is designed not to ask children for private details such as address, school, phone number, email address, exact location, or full legal name.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us through a support request or another contact method, please email us at alice.turcanu91@gmail.com. We will review the request and delete the information where required.
3. Artificial Intelligence and Local Processing
To provide Santa's replies, the app uses on-device processing whenever available, including Apple Intelligence, optional offline replies, and built-in local responses. Conversation text, voice input, child profile data, letters, wishes, and drawings are not sent to our servers and are not used by us to train AI models.
4. Advertising, Tracking, and Selling Data
Chat With Santa does not include third-party advertising networks, does not serve targeted advertising, does not track children across apps or websites, and does not sell or rent personal information.
5. Parent Controls and Deletion
Parents and guardians can manage child profiles, chat history, letters, wishes, and app data on the device. Deleting the app may remove locally stored app data from the device. You can also contact us with privacy questions or deletion requests related to information you sent to us directly.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
