FileMark: Convert to Markdown

Privacy Policy

FileMark is designed to keep document conversion local to your Mac. This policy explains what data the app handles and how it is processed.

Summary

FileMark does not require an account, does not send your documents to a remote server, and does not run a cloud conversion service. Your selected files are processed locally on your device using the embedded conversion engine.

Information We Handle

  • The document you choose to convert.
  • The resulting Markdown content shown in the app.
  • Optional local settings you choose in the app, such as cleanup preferences.
  • Local conversion logs if a conversion fails and the app writes diagnostics to your Mac.

How Data Is Used

  • To convert the selected document into Markdown.
  • To display status, previews, and saved output inside the app.
  • To store your chosen preferences on your device.
  • To help diagnose a conversion failure when you choose to review a local error log.

Sharing and Storage

FileMark does not sell personal data. It does not upload your files for marketing or analytics. Any files you open, convert, copy, or save remain under your control. If you export a Markdown file, it is saved to the location you choose.

Purchases

FileMark Pro subscriptions are bought through the Mac App Store and processed by Apple. FileMark receives no payment details. The app learns from Apple only whether a subscription is active, and keeps on your Mac a count of the free conversions you have used.

Security

Because conversion happens locally, your files do not leave the app for ordinary use. As with any desktop software, you should keep macOS and your backups up to date.

Children

FileMark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this page when the app changes. The most recent version should always reflect the current behavior of the product.
